Dell 6Gbps SAS HBA External controller card, Dell part 012DNW, built on the LSI SAS2008 controller — the same silicon as the LSI SAS 9200-8e and the Dell PERC H200E. Eight 6Gb/s SAS lanes are presented on two external SFF-8088 mini-SAS ports over a PCI Express 2.0 x8 interface. This is a plain HBA, not a RAID card: no onboard cache, no battery, drives pass straight through to the operating system. Ideal for attaching Dell PowerVault MD1200 / MD1220 JBOD shelves, external SAS tape drives and autoloaders, or for cross-flashing to LSI IT-mode firmware for TrueNAS, ZFS, unRAID and Ceph builds.
